As the cold grows more intense day by day, our clothing choices tend to reflect the mood of the season, drifting toward monotone tones. That's precisely why choosing a bright color or pattern for your outerwear can lift both your appearance and your spirits—doesn't it make winter dressing feel a little more fun?
ZUTTO's new coat is a collarless design featuring a classic, vivid check pattern. Collarless coats often carry a slightly formal impression, suited for dressier occasions, but the coat we're introducing here strikes a balance—casual and easy to wear, yet still refined.
The material used is wool yarn spun using a technique called "mule spinning," a method invented in England. This spinning process brings out the thick, plump texture that draws out wool's naturally fluffy character to its fullest.
Even once woven into fabric, you can still enjoy wool's original soft, fluffy quality, giving the coat a relaxed yet endearing impression. Despite its substantial volume, the coat feels far lighter to wear than it looks. And because it's wool, it also offers excellent warmth, keeping you properly insulated through the cold season.
▲Lined with cupra, a material that resists static electricity, the coat offers enhanced warmth as well. The lining also makes putting the coat on and taking it off smoother, thanks to its slippery finish—a welcome detail.
What we focused on most with this coat was the beautiful silhouette and design it creates when worn. By pairing a clean, refined shape with gentle wool fabric and a vividly colored check pattern, the coat carries a casual air within its elegant form.
The design features raglan sleeves in which the body and sleeves are integrated as one. This creates a beautiful curve running from the shoulder, resulting in a rounded silhouette.
The raglan sleeve construction also causes the pattern on the sleeves to form a beautiful diamond shape. It's a design carefully calculated down to how it appears when the arms are lowered.
I-line coats, being long and vertical, tend to look flat, but this one adds contrast by inserting a seam at the waist and deliberately shifting the pattern there.
It's thanks to this seam that the coat has a surprising sense of movement despite its simple silhouette. It won't feel heavy even when paired with a dress or a loose, flowing skirt.
The check-patterned fabric has a nostalgic feel, as if pulled straight out of grandma's closet. We've prepared two colors: a playful, vivid ORANGE×NAVY, and a more subdued BLACK. Both are finished as pieces with a touch of individuality, thanks to their classic check pattern.

Bottom: CTX-010L 12oz Selvedge Straight Jeans
Shoes: OFFICER SHOE 1831 Black
The eye-catching combination of orange and navy in the check pattern brightens up an outfit even when paired with somewhat darker tones. It doesn't clash with casual items like denim, either, and instead lends the whole coordination a refined air.

Bottom: TRINA Linen Gathered Skirt

The black-based check, accented with lines of green and red, acts as a grounding element when paired with a white-based coordination. Compared to the orange version, it has a somewhat calmer feel. The fine, dotted texture, resembling stitching, is a design detail that further elevates simple clothing.
With its elegant air combined with an endearing impression, ZUTTO's collarless raglan coat is a piece that elevates your everyday casual coordination by a notch.
