When it comes to items worth owning, the cardigan is at the top of the list. Many of us carry one around like a talisman, just in case. This time, ZUTTO brings you a packable cardigan that resists wrinkling and offers a crisp, cool touch against the skin. It's not just for combating summer air conditioning—it also works well as sun protection. We designed this cardigan, which comes in handy across the seasons, to be packable for easy carrying, with a simple design that will make you glad you brought it along.

A simple design with a convenient packable feature

From spring through autumn, the weather can really vary a lot within a single day—temperature swings, sudden changes in conditions. On top of that, in midsummer you might step outside into the blazing heat, then walk into an overly air-conditioned room and feel chilly. Managing your body temperature becomes even more important than in winter.

That's why ZUTTO created a cardigan that is "simple and easy to pair with any outfit," while also being "packable, so you can quickly take it out or put it away whenever needed."

We actually made a packable cardigan last year too, and it was very popular. This year's version is even thinner, with a dry-touch finish, making it a piece you'll want to wear even in the height of summer. (More on the material later.) It features a simple, feminine silhouette, and the buttonless design—easy to just throw on—is another key point. The slightly longer length gently covers areas around the hips that you might be self-conscious about, while a bit of extra room in the sleeves and body means it won't feel tight even if you're wearing long sleeves underneath.

Simply roll it up and tuck it into the pocket on the inside to make it packable. It resists wrinkling, and you don't need to worry about it getting dirty even when stored in your bag—a nice bonus.

A dry-touch material that resists wrinkling

An easy-care material that doesn't show wrinkles is essential for a packable design. This time, we used a thin jersey fabric made with 100% cotton high-twist yarn. Despite being a soft material, it has a surprisingly dry touch, along with a beautiful sheen and soft texture. Two fine 80-count threads are twisted together to prevent the fabric from twisting diagonally, giving this thin material added strength. A liquid ammonia treatment applied during the dyeing process further increases its strength. The fabric also features "SUPER SOFT®" processing, which achieves both a soft texture and easy care at the same time—resulting in a fabric that's full of appeal: drapey and smooth, yet soft to the touch.

This material also has excellent stretch, resists losing its shape after washing, and offers easy care overall. Because it's treated to reduce fuzzing, there's less static electricity from friction, so it won't cling to your skin—a welcome feature as the seasons change.
