Won't easily blow away in the wind, folds up for easy carrying, and can be washed when it gets dirty.
A hat can be a decorative fashion item, but it also serves a practical, tool-like purpose—protecting against sunburn and heatstroke—where functionality matters most.
The hat ZUTTO made for summer strikes a good balance between both of these aspects: the linen ramie 2-way hat. Based on a hat that sold out for two seasons in a row, we've made careful improvements to it. Easy to handle, functional, washable when dirty, and easy to pair with any outfit—these are the reasons it can be enjoyed for a long time.
With the idea of creating this year's original hat together with our customers, we made it in the three colors that proved most popular in a survey of our newsletter subscribers.
The new colors are "INDIGO," a casual shade that still blocks light well, and "SAGE," a nuanced color you won't easily find elsewhere. This hat pairs well with a wide range of styles, from casual outfits to elegant dresses.
Worn in SAGE (items paired: dress, pants, clogs)
It's "2-way" because of the removable cord and drawstring. The hat itself is made from a linen-ramie blend. Ramie is a type of hemp material—while linen has mostly been used in Europe, ramie is a natural fiber that has long been used across Asia, including Japan.
Many of you have probably had the experience of a hat suddenly blowing away in the wind while wearing it. With a drawstring, you can fully enjoy windy days or active outings with family and friends without worrying about your hat.
With the stopper attached, you can shorten the cord so there's no need to worry about the hat blowing off even on windy days.
When you want to take the hat off, just let it hang from your neck.
Adding the cord becomes an accent for your look from behind.

Removing the cord makes the hat easier to pair with a wider variety of outfits. It also goes well with elegant shirts and blouses.
POINT
Until last year, removing the cord from the hat required undoing two hooks, but this year we've changed it to just one. This makes it much easier to take off.
Undo the hook and pull the cord out through the slits on either side of the hat to remove it.

With just one hook, you can slide it right up to the edge of the brim, making the hook itself much less noticeable.
While many hats with cords tend to have an outdoorsy material or feel, using hemp materials like linen and ramie means you don't need to switch between an "everyday hat" and an "outdoor hat"—one hat works for both scenes. And with the removable cord, your styling options become even broader.
The fabric is 50% linen and 50% ramie. Both are types of hemp, sharing common traits of durability and good breathability, and both develop richer texture the more you use and wash them.
The reasons we chose to stick with hemp materials are "the texture that changes and softens with use" and "ease of care."
When wearing a hat in summer, the inside tends to get sweaty and stuffy, and it can pick up foundation or sunscreen, making you want to wash it. The idea that washing would only improve the material for the better was the starting point for this original hat, since wide-brimmed hats made of linen were hard to find.
Ramie adds body to the fabric and helps the hat hold its shape nicely. It also has a crisp texture, so it doesn't cling to your skin even when you sweat, and it absorbs moisture to keep you feeling cool and comfortable even on hot days. Since it can be easily machine washed, feel free to take it along to the park or outdoors without worrying about sweat or dirt.
Another key point is that it "folds up compactly."
This compactness, which lets you slip it right into a commuting bag or travel bag, is incredibly convenient. The natural fabric's look, which doesn't show wrinkles too much, also makes it an easy choice.
When it comes to sun protection, a wider brim that firmly shields your face and neck from UV rays is ideal. That's why, for the linen ramie 2-way hat, we pieced together the edge of the brim instead of using a single piece, making it easier to shape the brim as you like.
When the sun is strong, spread it wide and pull it down low; when you want a clearer view, fold up the brim—enjoy arranging it to suit your mood and situation each day. It also gives thorough coverage to the back of your neck, an area that burns easily.
The head circumference can be adjusted between approximately 56-60cm using the hook-and-loop fastener on the inside.
This original hat has been popular every year. We hope you'll enjoy wearing it in all kinds of situations, from your daily commute to outdoor scenes on your days off.
Taking advantage of its ability to fold up compactly, this hat is great for your daily commute and outings. If the drawcord feels a bit too casual for the occasion, it can be removed, so you can choose the style that suits the scene.
Perfect for outings to nature-rich spots like mountains, the sea, parks, or pools. When heading out to leisure spots, functionality and ease of washing become important considerations. Enjoy nature to the fullest, then give it a quick wash when you get home before bringing it along on your next outing. The more you use it, the softer it becomes and the more it molds to you, so getting it dirty and washing it isn't a downside at all—it's part of the process of making it truly your own and growing attached to it.
Many of you are probably planning trips this summer vacation. Simple, lightweight, and easy to handle, this hat comes in handy while traveling too.
When traveling, where the weather can be hard to predict, a compact hat that fits easily into your everyday bag or travel bag is very convenient. From relaxed dress styles to easy-to-move-in pants outfits, its simple design that goes with any coordination is another point that makes it easy to use. We hope you'll start using it plenty from now and come to love it as a favorite.

A parasol that lets you enjoy the sunshine, beautiful even when closed
This parasol was designed with attention not only to how the pattern looks when opened, but also to its appearance, functionality, and ease of use when standing in an umbrella stand or when closed and carried around. It was made by a workshop of umbrella craftsmen founded in Showa 48 (1973) that specializes in made-to-order umbrellas. You can sense the craftsmen's refined skill in the subtle touches worked into inconspicuous spots, both when opening and closing it and while it's closed and carried around.
When opened, its size is more than sufficient for blocking the sun. And when closed and carried, it's a size smaller than a rain umbrella, so it looks neat and compact.

The fabric, treated with UV-blocking water repellent finishing, also has the advantage of resisting stains. Even bright colors, which typically tend to show dirt easily, can be used with peace of mind.
