That said, for those who feel a bold print might draw too much attention to the pants, we're introducing a chic patterned pair of easy pants that's easy to wear. The plants drawn in an etching-like style make this piece perfect for summer.

A design that works both casual and dressed-up

Bottoms that sit close to the skin are especially tricky to choose during the humid, sweaty season ahead. You want to pick something with a fabric and silhouette that stays as comfortable as possible. The Umafu Air Tumbler Cotton Botanical Easy Pants were designed to be worn everywhere from relaxing at home to heading out, with good breathability and a fabric you can wash without worry even after working up a sweat—a welcome piece for the hot summer months.

The waist features a fully elasticized design for easy wearing. There's no feeling of tightness even when sitting, making these suitable for desk work too. There's also a drawstring that lets you fine-tune the fit—cinch it up for a nice accent point when tucking in your top.

The shape also makes it easy to layer over a dress—it's handy as a cover-up for thin cotton or linen dresses that might otherwise be a bit sheer.

A wholesome botanical print in chic colors

For these pants, we chose a print featuring plants. Drawn with delicate detail down to the finest lines, the plants give off a classic impression, almost like an old botanical illustration book.

Because the flowers and leaves are drawn on a large scale, this differs from typical floral prints with small, sweet blossoms—it comes across as more natural rather than overly sweet. Despite being a large-scale print, since it's a colorless line drawing, it doesn't become too flashy; in fact, it's easier to incorporate into an outfit than many finer prints.

We've prepared two colors: BROWN and CHARCOAL.

CHARCOAL is a darker shade close to the color of the print itself, so the print doesn't stand out too much when worn. It's an easy color to reach for if you're trying patterned pants for the first time.

This one is BROWN. Being a brighter shade closer to beige, the print stands out more compared to CHARCOAL. It pairs well with black leather accessories too, and is a color you can wear for a long stretch, right through the lingering heat at the start of autumn.

A thin yet densely woven, lightweight fabric

For the fabric, we chose a 100% cotton umafu (a canvas traditionally used as horse-saddle padding) material that has undergone air-tumbler processing.

Umafu refers to the cloth once placed between a saddle and a horse's back to keep the saddle from sliding off during riding. Because of this background, it's characterized by exceptional strength and durability. The umafu used here has also undergone air-tumbler processing, in which air pressure is applied to work and soften the fibers, resulting in a nicely softened fabric with just the right amount of firmness removed. Despite being thin, the fabric is densely woven and lightweight, so even when tailored into full-length pants, it doesn't feel heavy. This is another welcome point for the sweltering heat of summer.

Even with its bold, large-scale print, the Umafu Air Tumbler Cotton Botanical Easy Pants never look too flashy, letting you wear them with a mature, grown-up feel. This summer, they're likely to see plenty of use both at home and out and about.
