Linen is a breathable fabric with a crisp touch, so it can be worn comfortably even in the sweaty season. In humid Japan, it has long been cherished as a fiber for summer wear. As you wear and wash it repeatedly, its color and texture change over time, so through frequent wear it grows into a piece that becomes uniquely your own.

This caftan dress takes its inspiration from the caftan, the traditional garment of Turkey and the Middle East. While the original garment often features colorful embroidery and lace, at ZUTTO we've toned down the ethnic feel and refined the design into something easy for anyone to wear as everyday clothing in Japan.

The neckline cut is what's called a key neck—with a slit that makes the area around the face look neat and the neck appear longer, for a cool, refreshing design.

The sleeves are a relaxed three-quarter length, loose enough to let the breeze through. The length nicely hides the upper arms. The cuffs are designed with a large fold turned to the outside, adding a nice accent.

Slits are placed on both sides of the hem, making it easy to move in. This also lets you enjoy it as part of a layered style.

We also paid close attention to the silhouette, so that it can be worn comfortably even on hot days.

Linen fabric may bring to mind summer, but it actually has good heat-retaining properties too, making it perfect for the slightly chilly early autumn as well. During the season when it's a bit too cool for sandals, you can pair it with a high-neck cut-and-sew top and leg wear like easy pants to wear it for a relatively long stretch of time.

We compared how it looks when worn by people of different heights.

With a long one-piece dress, the length and silhouette are things you naturally want to check. So we had two staff members of different heights try it on and compare. The hem length and overall volume can give quite a different impression depending on height, so we hope this will be helpful for reference.

The hem falls around the ankles, and slits on both sides make it easy to move in. The generous body width keeps it cool, and the soft linen feels wonderful against bare skin.
