This cotton fabric was named after chewing gum, evoking the pleasant, moderately springy texture it has. Despite being a shirt fabric, its supple, slight stretch is reminiscent of the chewiness of gum. It's characterized by a thin, lightweight feel and a clear, crisp look.

By treating the cotton fibers with a process that swells them from within, the yarn's strength is increased beyond that of ordinary cotton, while the texture is finished soft to the touch.
