Now that we're into October, autumn is truly here. Even though it's warm during the day, the chill in the mornings and evenings reminds us that the season is moving forward.

This is the time of year when we naturally reach for warm clothing, but many people find wool sweaters too itchy and scratchy to wear comfortably. For anyone who feels this way, we'd like to recommend a pullover made from brushed-back jersey (urakedo) fabric. It's soft with none of that scratchy feeling, so we can confidently recommend it even to those with sensitive skin.

From the moment the air turns crisp through the depths of winter, the soft, stress-free comfort of brushed-back jersey fabric is something you'll want to work into your everyday style. This ZUTTO original pullover was created in pursuit of exactly that kind of comfort.

This is ZUTTO's very first half-zip design. We aimed to create a piece that offers the best of both worlds: a polished look combined with true relaxation.

The silhouette was designed with extra ease through the body and a wider armhole, so it won't bunch up even when you layer an inner piece underneath. And since it doesn't feel bulky under an outer coat, it comes in handy right through the depths of winter.

Another key feature is the design around the neckline. The combination of a stand collar and hood creates a three-dimensional shape around the face, keeping your neck warm even without a scarf or muffler. Also, rather than using ribbed fabric for the collar, we deliberately chose the outer fabric instead, so the piece doesn't lean too far into casual territory.

The length is neither too long nor too short, making it easy to pair with any bottoms. The hem is ribbed, so you can wear it short without tucking it into your bottoms.

In pursuit of true comfort.

The design is wonderful, of course, but what we're most proud of is the soft, fluffy feel against the skin. It's astonishingly smooth and stretches beautifully. Once you wear it, you'll be hooked—and it keeps you remarkably warm, too.

For the fabric, we chose a brushed-back jersey made with a recycled blend of extra-long-staple Supima cotton waste fiber for the surface yarn. The outer surface is knitted at a high gauge, giving it a crisp, clean impression, while the reverse side has a gentle, fluffy touch like cotton down, offering a warm, cozy feel. Because the brushed backing is so soft, it doesn't add unwanted bulk even when layered.

Even the staff members who tried it on decided to buy one right away.

"My skin just can't tolerate wool, and I always thought knitwear seemed like such a hassle to care for. So every autumn and winter, I rely on sweatshirts and hoodies. But the ones I own all have logos on them, which makes them feel quite casual.

I'd been wishing I could find a hoodie that wasn't just casual but had a more polished feel, and then this one arrived. The moment I slipped my arms through the sleeves, I thought, 'This feels amazing!' The inside is so soft and smooth against the skin, and it keeps you really warm. There's no scratchiness at all, so even I, with my sensitive skin, could wear it comfortably."
