Wool × cotton to keep you warm on winter days. A relaxed high-neck dress for grown-ups

The season when simply wrapping yourself in something warm brings happiness is almost here. This time of year, clothing with volume looks adorable, helps hide your figure, and lends itself to layering—perhaps more than any other season, it's a time when many of us look forward to expressing our own style.

Among the ZUTTO staff, some look forward to autumn and winter simply because it means they get to wear their favorite boots and leather shoes. For those people, we've created a dress that makes dressing up for autumn and winter even more enjoyable.

Refined Wool Docking High-Neck Dress

This design dress brings together two materials, "wool" and "cotton." Perhaps you want a dress in a calm, muted tone that you can wear under all kinds of outerwear or with a checked scarf—but you worry that a single, plain color might feel a bit lacking once you take off the coat or scarf. This is the perfect piece for those days.

The collar, shoulders, and cuffs are made of ribbed cotton fabric, while the main body uses a wool as thick as felt. This wool undergoes a "refining process" in which the fibers are tangled together as if being kneaded in water, giving it a feel that is much lighter and more comfortable than it looks. Because it holds so much air, it's also wonderfully warm.

For the shoulder area, we used a cotton fabric blended with a small amount of stretchy polyester so you can move freely without feeling restricted. It stretches well, much like knitwear, and the polyester also helps prevent the fabric from losing its shape, so it holds up well and can be worn for a long time.

The sleeve ribbing was made a bit longer, a small touch of ingenuity that lets the wool sleeves puff out with a soft, three-dimensional look. It stretches gently, so you won't feel any tightness—another point we love about it.

One staff member's favorite feature is the perfect length and the slits. At 160cm tall, she finds the length shows just a glimpse of skin above her boots or socks. If the dress were any longer, it would be harder to enjoy styling with boots, but the balance between the legs peeking through the slits and the boots is just right—she wants to wear it with boots and a coat every time she heads out on a day off. Worn alone, it looks polished, but it's also lovely dressed down with high-top sneakers and a down vest.

Even though it's a high neck, the fabric stretches well and doesn't feel restrictive, making it easy to wrap a scarf or stole around your neck.

We offer this dress in BLACK and NAVY, both easy to pair with bright accent accessories. The NAVY is a dark navy close to black, revealing a hint of navy blue when the light catches it. Both colors are calm and understated, letting you enjoy combining them with patterned pieces.

Even though the fabric is on the thicker side, the stretch around the shoulders keeps it from feeling tight, making it easy to layer outerwear on top. It's a piece that also offers solid protection against the cold.
