One reason ZUTTO decided to carry this embroidered bag is that a well-worn embroidered bag develops a beautiful patina over time. We borrowed a bag from someone who has been using their Antonello Tedde tote for about three years, and took a look at how it has changed.

Here's that bag. Overall, it has softened somewhat and now fits comfortably against the body. The owner says that after hand-washing it, it shrank slightly and the weave felt tighter. After long use, there are indeed some spots where the embroidery has snagged and come loose, but that too is part of its character. A companion you've grown close to over time becomes something you can't do without. This particular bag, since it has color, gets used mainly in spring and summer, but she mentioned that a monotone version would be nice since you could use it in heavy rotation all year round.
