If you own even a single pair of leather shoes, a shoe tree is something we'd recommend. Surprisingly, many people don't have one, but by using it, you can keep your leather shoes in good condition and extend the life of your shoes—it's one of those practical items worth having.

Take a look at shoes after a day of walking: the upper has creases from wear, and the leather sole has warped, losing its shape. If left alone, these can eventually crack and become unwearable. It's said that the soles of our feet sweat about a cup's worth of moisture a day, so humidity builds up inside the shoe, becoming the source of odors and mold. Simply keeping a shoe tree inside helps your shoes last longer, so if you have shoes you love, it's worth using one.
With these three functions, a shoe tree lets tired, worn shoes rest while restoring them to their original shape, keeping them clean in storage, and helping your shoes last longer.

There are simple plastic shoe keepers as well, but Wooodlore's shoe trees are made from 100% natural cedar, which carries a scent reminiscent of a forest, and offer deodorizing, odor-eliminating, and insect-repelling effects.
Cedar has long been used to protect clothing from insects. It absorbs excess moisture and keeps pests away.
The compounds unique to cedar suppress the growth of the bacteria that cause odors, while also spreading a forest-like scent.
A natural material that is gentle on both the earth and the people who use it, so you can use it with peace of mind.
The shoe tree pictured in the box above is the Adjustable Shoe Tree, women's size. Its front section is split, designed to fit a variety of shoe shapes easily. Once the scent fades, you can sand the surface to restore its effect, making it a practical shoe care item that can be used almost indefinitely.
The photo below shows the shoe tree fitted into a leather shoe that had been worn continuously without one. The item used here is the Women's Boot Tree. This type holds the shoe firmly all the way up to the ankle, making it suitable for oxfords and wingtips, and keeping their original shape intact.
By storing the shoes like this, the creases in the upper are smoothed out, and the cedar's effect keeps them clean and ready to be comfortably worn again next time.

1. If the shoe has a tongue, lift it gently and insert the shoe tree starting from the toe.
2. Once it's inserted almost all the way to the front, press the heel section down into the shoe. This requires some force, so hold the shoe firmly while doing so.
3. Once it's pressed down as far as it will go, gently tap the sides so that the front section is centered, and adjust so that the tension of the shoe tree is even throughout.
*When removing it, hold the shoe firmly, lift the heel section, and then pull it out.

For narrow leather shoes, low-vamp shoes, strap shoes, or pumps, we recommend the Adjustable Shoe Tree. Taking good care in storing both the leather shoes you wear every day and the heels you wear for formal occasions will let you enjoy them for a long time, so if you have shoes you love, make good use of a shoe tree. Great style starts from the feet up.

Wooodlore was founded in 1987 as a subsidiary that produces genuine shoe trees for Allen Edmonds, a company that set out to make the most luxurious and comfortable handmade shoes in the world.

For care products meant to accompany discerning shoe brands, Wooodlore makes its shoe trees using "Eastern Red Cedar," a rare wood that grows only in select parts of the United States. Because of its highly aromatic qualities, this wood is also used to extract fragrances and aromatic oils, and it is also known as "aromatic cedar," carrying a scent like a walk through the forest. The wood is sourced entirely from thinnings—trees cut down as part of forest management for red cedar growth in national parks—making Wooodlore's shoe trees what they are.

When the company was first founded, its products were only handled by select specialty tailors, but as the superior effects and high quality of cedar gained a following, Wooodlore has since expanded beyond shoe trees to offer care products for the entire closet. With various dedicated hangers and storage boxes, Wooodlore's products transform a closet from "a place to hide things you don't use" into "a place to properly store the things you treasure."
