Autumn and winter are the seasons when dressing up becomes even more enjoyable. When we think about why we feel drawn to dressing well in these seasons, it may be because of the fun of layering. Pairing a sweater with a blouse that has an adorable collar peeking out underneath, or combining a hooded sweatshirt with a down vest—it's precisely because of this season that layering lets us create even more appealing outfits.
This time, ZUTTO has created a V-neck pullover that expands the possibilities of layering. With its deep V-neck, this piece lets you enjoy not only layering but also choosing accessories.
This pullover is made from a material called ruana urake (brushed-back fabric). It has a sheen and softness that can't be achieved with 100% cotton. Loose-fitting pullovers made from brushed-back fabric often give a strongly relaxed impression, but using this particular fabric keeps the silhouette looking neat and refined.
The loops on the reverse side are made using two-ply thread, giving it a plump, soft texture similar to a napped fabric. It's medium-thick and resistant to sagging, so it maintains its beautiful appearance over long-term wear. Since it isn't napped, it works well layered over a tank top in warmer, sweat-prone weather, or over a turtleneck in colder weather—making it a versatile piece for three seasons out of the year, excluding summer.
The V-neck area features a raw-cut edge finished with a three-needle stitch. This means that as you wear it, the edge will fray just slightly and take on a rounded softness, giving even this simple piece a sense of detail. Rest assured that the fraying only reaches as far as the stitching, so there's nothing to worry about.
The deep V-neck is the defining feature of the Ruana Urake V-Neck Pullover. This time, we designed it to reach down to just below the chest. Rather than a V-neck that shows just a hint of the inner layer, this design is meant to properly reveal what's underneath—somewhat like the feeling of wearing an open cardigan. Since the impression changes depending on what you wear underneath, this one piece can create a wide range of looks.

The overall impression changes greatly depending on the openness and design of the inner layer's collar. A greater contrast between the pullover's color and the inner layer's color makes the V-shape stand out, while choosing similar tones creates a chic impression—so the colors you pair also become a key point in shaping the look. Also, since the neckline is quite open, it pairs nicely with necklaces ranging from short-chain to long-chain styles, letting you strike a good balance.
We've prepared two colors: BEIGE and NAVY. Both go easily with any color of inner layer. For those who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, we recommend BEIGE; for those who prefer a polished look with items like a wool skirt or leather shoes, NAVY is the way to go.
