just this kind of concept.

What is truly necessary?
By imagining the person who will use it, the brand simply seeks out the essence of things.
What emerges from this process is then further shaped and developed by the people who use it.
More feeling expressed through less design.
With a clean design that lets you sense the beauty of empty space,
the brand aims to create products that are loved for a long time.

The word "simple" tends to bring to mind ease of use and approachability,
but if something is simple in only the plainest sense,
it can end up feeling bland and uninteresting.
Simple, yet standing out. Simple, yet leaving a lasting impression.
I believe this comes from the careful attention paid to materials and design details.
And it's precisely these details that lead to a deep sense of attachment.

Take STANDARD SUPPLY, for example.
Glove leather is used for the zip pulls.
Durability is prioritized where daily opening and closing puts the most strain on the bag.
And because these are the parts your hands touch most often, materials that develop character with age are chosen.
You can sense this kind of thoughtfulness throughout.

Furthermore, on the main zippers of each product, the brand uses
YKK's premium line, "Excella," and the carefully polished, beautiful lines of the zipper serve as
a wonderful accent.
While the lineup—backpacks, crossbody bags, and so on—is casual in shape,
the details express that these are pieces made for adults.

STANDARD SUPPLY primarily uses 64 cloth
in making its products.
This cloth, too, is essential to understanding the brand.

64 cloth is a blended material made of 60% cotton and 40% nylon.
It's not a name you hear often, but it was first developed about 50 years ago, and has long been loved
as a functional material.
64 cloth is often used as a material for outdoor wear and gear,
and the reason lies in its "functionality."
In other words, it's a material that takes the best qualities of both cotton and nylon,
inheriting breathability and the ability to age beautifully from cotton,
and abrasion resistance and lightness from nylon.

It's surprising to learn that 64 cloth actually outperforms either cotton or nylon alone
in both breathability and abrasion resistance.
It also has a functional advantage in the rain: when the fabric gets wet, the cotton absorbs water and swells,
increasing the density of the weave with the nylon and helping to prevent water from soaking through.

Even for a bag not intended for outdoor use,
a material offering lightness, a pleasant texture, good looks, and rain resistance
is one you'll want to reach for.

Design sketch

This time, together with STANDARD SUPPLY,
we've created a special-order color.
We wanted a color that wouldn't feel too heavy for the coming season,
but also not so bright that it would be hard to pair with clothing.
Weighing that balance, we chose BLUE-GREY.
This calm, greyish blue doesn't clash with any outfit,
while still avoiding a dull or plain feel—it's a truly exquisite shade.

We decided to bring in brightness through the smaller details.
Normally, black glove leather is used,
but for this version, we chose natural-colored
numé leather for the handles and zipper pulls.
Depending on the item, the brand's name tag also
uses numé leather, which pairs beautifully with the calm tone of the blue-grey.

We also made the zipper facing white, to serve as an accent.
That glimpse of white you catch when taking things in and out of the bag adds a special touch.

Now, let's take a look at
each bag in this special BLUE-GREY colorway.

A backpack style suited to everyday town use.
The design and form are simple, with no unnecessary embellishment,
yet it's highly functional, with plenty of pockets.
On the front is an organizer pocket sized for keys and a phone,
which itself has a small inner pocket
as well as a hook for attaching your keys.

The shoulder pads are fitted with 10mm-thick urethane padding,
with tape run through the inside as well, making for a construction that's gentle on the shoulders.
The handle on top is also wrapped in numé leather,
reducing strain when carrying the bag by hand.
The numé leather at the base of the shoulder pads on the back panel
will also be interesting to watch as it develops character over time.

As its name suggests, the WEEKEND SHOULDER is a
compact-sized shoulder bag,
perfect for weekend outings.

On the front is a large zippered pocket
for items you reach for often, like your phone or pass case.
Inside, there are two divided pockets and one large pocket
with a hook-and-loop closure, plus a hook for attaching your keys.

So that it can also hold items with a bit of weight,
urethane foam is built into the base panel and shoulder pad,
which helps the bag hold its shape and keeps the shoulder from tiring easily.

It's a shape that's easy for both men and women to use,
Since it pairs easily with casual outfits, it comes in handy for so many occasions—strolling around town, watching sports,
or as a bag for valuables while traveling.

FANNY refers to the buttocks and hip area.
In other words, FANNY PACK means
"waist bag," but we also recommend using it as a body bag,
worn diagonally across the back.

A small wallet, a phone, a paperback book, keys.
With just these, you can head out light and easy.
It comes in handy when riding a bicycle, or when
you want to go out empty-handed with only the bare essentials.

The FANNY PACK has a design where the zipper is
visible on the front, so the white base fabric
becomes a nice accent.
Since it fits snugly against your back,
it won't get in the way even during active pursuits.
It's also perfect for heading to the park with your kids.

It's labeled as 2WAY, referring to carrying it by hand or over the shoulder.
That said, if the contents aren't too bulky and you're a woman,
we think it could work as a 3WAY, worn diagonally across the body as well.
Since the gusset is generously sized, even though the material is soft, true to its name,
it STANDs UP on its own, so you won't feel the stress of it
flopping over when you set it down for a moment.

With its large capacity, it's a reassuring companion on days when you have a lot to carry,
and it works well for one-night, two-day trips too.
It's a size that both men and women can carry comfortably,
and despite its size, the bag itself is lightweight, making it exceptionally easy to use.

The inside has pockets covering all four sides.
The two pockets on the longer sides come with a belt to secure the opening,
allowing you to store documents or magazines.
The pockets on the shorter sides can hold a plastic bottle or a folding umbrella.
