When it comes to winter tops, there's a wide range depending on the material—some light, some heavy, some a bit scratchy but excellent at keeping you warm. Many people probably choose based on what matters most to them in a material.
For those who especially value "comfort" and "design," we recommend a plump, soft pullover like this one. With its charming look from both front and back, this high-neck pullover is a piece you'll want to add to your autumn and winter wardrobe rotation.
What especially catches the eye is the contrast stitching at the shoulders, armholes, and back. This is a technique called three-needle double-throw stitching, which gives the seams a slight bit of extra thickness.
This creates a menswear-like impression along with a subtle casual feel, so the outfit comes together with just this one piece.

Next, take a look at the design on the back. This pullover is pieced together at the back, so it looks lovely even after you take off your outer layer. The relaxed, rounded silhouette is nicely accentuated by a slit at the back, making the design charming from every angle—a full 360 degrees.
The ribbing at the neckline and hem is tailored slightly longer for a casual feel. Beyond just looking cute when worn, this also helps block cold winds at the neck while making the slit at the hem stand out more distinctly.
The sleeves are trim against the roomy body width, giving it a look that isn't too loose. The pattern is drawn to narrow toward the hem, resulting in a high-neck pullover with a lovely, rounded silhouette when worn.
For the material, we chose a heavyweight fabric knitted on a rare, old-style knitting machine called the "Azuma knitting machine."

The Azuma knitting machine is one of the early machines from around 1975, from the era when suspended knitting machines were giving way to high-speed knitting machines, and very few of these machines still exist today, making them highly valuable and rare. The knitting speed is extremely slow—only one to two bolts of fabric can be knitted per day—but this results in a brushed reverse fleece with a fullness and soft touch that ordinary knitting machines simply can't achieve.
It has a light feel that gently wraps around your body, and you can adjust your warmth by layering inner garments according to the outside temperature and your mood. It's also great worn under an outer coat or paired with a scarf or shawl, since it won't strain your shoulders.
It comes in two colors: GREY and OATMEAL.
These calm, monotone shades go with any outfit and will serve you well day after day. In autumn and winter, there are plenty of accessories with fun colors and patterns—plaid mufflers, Fair Isle or Nordic-patterned gloves, socks, and more. If you want to pair this pullover with such accessories, its combination of simplicity and cuteness makes it a perfect match.
Top: GREY
Skirt: Tricot Corduroy Tuck Skirt
Stole: Balancer Circular 2WAY Stole
Boots: Front Zip Side Gore Boots
For the calm GREY tone, we recommend styling it with a chic, autumn/winter-appropriate palette, and choosing an accent color for your accessories.
Top: OATMEAL
Skirt: Wrap Long Quilted Skirt
Bag: Leather Shoulder Bag JASU
Boots: chausser Side Lace-Up Boots C-2331 DBR
It also works beautifully in a traditional, polished style. Since the pullover has a casual touch, even when paired with more refined items, the overall look stays well-balanced with just the right amount of relaxed ease. This high-neck pullover is recommended both for those who prefer plain pullovers and for those who like logo sweatshirts.
