When it comes to winter skirts, we find ourselves wanting something with a neat, beautiful silhouette—quite different from the light, breezy pieces we choose in summer. Perhaps it's because this is the season when boots and leather shoes look their best, or perhaps it's because of all the occasions to see people, like Christmas and the year-end holidays. Whatever the reason, dressing for the season is one of life's simple pleasures. With that mood in mind, we're pleased to introduce a new ZUTTO original wool skirt.

This is the Luminary Compressed Wool Long Skirt, which resolves the "itchiness" often associated with wool skirts while offering a stretch that ordinary compressed materials simply don't have. It's a skirt that reflects ZUTTO's dedication to wearing comfort, through and through.

When choosing a skirt, comfort is an essential factor. The slimmer and more elegant a skirt's silhouette, the harder it usually is to find one that's also comfortable to wear—but this skirt solves that very problem.

Actually, the wool fabric we chose is a jersey material. Jersey is a type of knit said to have originated on the island of Jersey in England. Using jersey material gives the fabric its stretch, which is what makes this skirt so comfortable to wear.

Another common concern with wool is that "itchy" feeling against the skin. But the Luminary compressed wool we've used here is made from high-quality raw materials and finished with meticulous processing, giving it a suppleness that conventional compressed materials lack. It has a smoothness against the skin quite different from what you'd typically expect from wool. It offers an elegant sheen and a rich, structured texture, all while helping create a beautiful silhouette.

A beautiful silhouette that's also easy to walk in

While it may look like a simple A-line long skirt, we've built in details that let you wear it comfortably while keeping that beautiful silhouette. For instance, elastic is inserted only in the back of the waistband, so you can wear it without any tightness.

We've also added a slit at the center back hem for better ease of movement. Combined with the fabric's stretch, this makes for a long skirt that doesn't get in the way of your stride.

We've prepared two colors: a calm, settled D.BROWN and a GREY that pairs easily with any color. A thin knit sweater tucked in makes for a clean, streamlined look, while an oversized pullover balances nicely too.
