Known as "neru" in Japanese, this material has a brushed surface on the cotton or wool fibers, trapping air to improve warmth. It holds body heat well, staying warm even in a thin fabric. Unlike wool, the fibers don't feel scratchy, making it gentle on the skin during the dry season as well. Beyond its warmth, it's a fabric that also carries a distinctly autumn-winter look.

The appeal of cotton isn't limited to comfort alone. It's also easy to handle and can be washed at home with ease.
There's no need to worry about moth damage or shrinkage as with wool, making this a piece you can wear again and again, wash as often as you like, and enjoy without any hesitation.

The length is just enough to cover the calves. It's fine to wear it right at the waist, but personally, I thought it looked cute worn a bit lower too. Since the waist is fully elasticized, it's nice to be able to wear it wherever feels best.

Regular quilted skirts don't usually have pockets, but a nice touch of the Twisted Melange Flannel Check Wrap-Style Gathered Skirt is that it has seam pockets on both sides.
