A new standard, chosen by material. An original shirt you can choose from two different expressions: tenjiku and poplin.

Beyond heading to work, there are more occasions than you might expect when you feel like dressing just a little more thoughtfully—meeting a friend for a meal after a long time apart, spending an afternoon at a museum, or gathering with family for a slightly more formal occasion. At times like these, having a shirt you can reach for without hesitation in front of your closet makes things a little easier. Something that looks put-together, feels effortless to wear, and before you know it, finds itself in your rotation more and more often. With that kind of piece in mind, we created ZUTTO's original shirt.

The design is a basic stand collar. Using the same pattern, we've prepared two versions in different materials. One is a docking type that combines organic cotton tenjiku (jersey knit) with woven fabric. The other is a woven fabric type tailored from cotton poplin with a vintage finish.

▲ The docking type, which you can wear with the ease of a cut-and-sew top.

▲ The basic woven fabric type, with a soft texture from its vintage finish.

Though they look similar, the feel when you put them on and the overall impression differ. Choose by material the silhouette you'll want to keep wearing for years to come. That's the new standard we're proposing.

A silhouette worth wearing as a staple

Let's start with the shared design. The base is a stand-collar shirt that's easy to incorporate into everyday wear. While the body is roomy and oversized, the sleeves are designed to be slim and neat.

A balance that gives the whole shirt room to breathe while still avoiding a sloppy look.

The cuffs are cut slightly longer, with two buttons placed on each. Depending on how you fasten them, the impression shifts subtly, adding a small accent to an otherwise simple design. The back panel has no gathers, keeping the line of the back clean. We also paid close attention to achieving a composed silhouette when viewed from the side.

Slits are placed on both sides, making it easy to reach your bottoms' pockets. It's a design that supports both ease of movement and practicality, staying close to daily life.

Combining the comfort of a cut-and-sew top with the polished feel of a shirt

Organic Cotton Tenjiku × Woven Fabric Docking Stand Collar Shirt

Of the two shirts, one is the docking type. The body and sleeves use tenjiku fabric (a knit) made from Indian organic extra-long staple cotton, while the collar and cuffs use a woven fabric made of 100% cotton plain-weave poplin with a vintage finish. Yet the two materials blend so naturally that, at a glance, you wouldn't guess they're different fabrics at all.

The tenjiku fabric that forms the main body is made from Indian organic extra-long staple cotton. It retains the distinctive smooth, slippery feel unique to this cotton, while offering a gentle touch with a hint of crispness. Because it releases easily from the skin, it stays comfortable even in seasons when you tend to sweat.

In addition, the organic cotton used in this fabric qualifies under the "PBP YARN PROJECT." A dedicated fund has been established to support Indian cotton farmers transitioning to organic farming methods, as well as to help fund schooling and scholarships for farmers' children.

A smooth-textured fabric with a subtle sheen. It gives off an elegant impression.

The collar and cuffs use a fabric made of 100% cotton plain-weave poplin treated with a special vintage finish. By making the cuffs—an area that easily catches the eye—out of woven fabric, the shirt avoids looking too casual. It's a shirt where the soft comfort of the tenjiku fabric and the polished feel of the woven fabric come together in harmony.

Being a knit, the tenjiku fabric has stretch and softness, making for relaxed wear—that's its appeal. We recommend it to those who don't usually reach for shirts, and for those who wear shirts often, it should become a comfortable go-to piece you can rely on.

【Staff Review】The wearing experience conveys the softness and skin-friendliness typical of tenjiku fabric. The smooth touch unique to extra-long staple cotton feels luxurious, almost like wearing a comfortable base layer—yet it still looks like a proper shirt, which makes it very versatile. The fluid drape and lovely sheen also give it a refined impression you don't often find in ordinary shirts. Since it isn't stiff, it should come in handy when you want to layer it under a pullover or cardigan.

・Those who like materials that feel gentle against the skin

・Those who want to dress in a relaxed way

・Those who often layer another piece over their shirt

A basic, staple shirt

A plain shirt with the texture of well-worn, washed fabric

Cotton Poplin Stand Collar Shirt

The other style is a cotton poplin stand-collar shirt made entirely of woven fabric. It uses the same fabric as the collar and cuffs of the docking type introduced earlier—100% cotton plain-weave poplin with a vintage finish.

By tumbling small batches slowly, the fabric develops a plump, soft texture. The drying process further brings out a well-worn, washed look, giving the piece a settled feel despite being brand new.

Pants / Shoes / Bag

【Staff Review】When worn on its own, this is the one where you really feel the crispness of the fabric itself. It's 100% cotton, but has a texture similar to linen. It looks neat while the relaxed silhouette keeps it from feeling restrictive, and there's no tension about having to press out every wrinkle with an iron—it just feels very natural. Compared to the docking type, this one has more body, so if you often wear a shirt on its own, this is the one we'd recommend. It also looks easy to wear as a light outer layer.

・Want to wear it as a light outer layer too

The pleasure of choosing by material

Even with the same shape, a change in material subtly alters both the feel of wearing it and its overall presence.

There's the docking type, stretchy and soft, wrapping gently around the body. And there's the poplin type, light and clean with a neat, orderly impression. Both are basics you naturally reach for when you're not sure what to wear. Choosing between them depending on the season, your mood, or the bottoms you're pairing them with opens up a wider range of outfit possibilities.

Built on a shape you can keep wearing for years, enjoy the differences between materials. We hope you'll make it a new staple in your wardrobe.
