For the items we reach for most often, we want to choose only the ones we truly love. Something with a touch of change and color, even amid the flow of everyday life. Whether you want to look sharp for work, meet someone important to you, or simply take a leisurely stroll all day long, we made this special cut-and-sew with the hope that it can be worn to match the gradations of daily life and enrich your days, even if just a little. It's a piece we'd love for you to add to your wardrobe.

ZUTTO's cut-and-sew was born from our wish to offer a piece that can be worn across seasons for a long time. This time, we asked Ono Merias, a company that has focused solely on manufacturing meriyasu (cut-and-sew) fabric since its founding in 1924, to produce it for us. The company has continually refined every aspect of its craft in pursuit of the highest quality, designing its own machinery—including knitting needles and knitting machines—and even producing in-house the yarn that is most essential to fabric-making.

The "Ono-style" needles and machines were independently designed and built soon after the company's founding, and they continue to knit Ono Merias's fabrics to this day.

Ono Merias has exhibited numerous times at Première Vision, the international textile and fabric trade fair held twice a year in Paris. Said to influence fashion around the world, Première Vision has served as a springboard for the company in recent years to develop groundbreaking fabrics—including patented materials—by combining the craftsmanship handed down since its founding with a spirit of technological innovation, earning high praise from top overseas fashion houses. "When we develop products that have never existed on the market before, there's no competition with other companies in the same industry," the company says—always proposing fresh ideas to the industry as a whole. Despite being a long-established company, it remains full of venture-spirit energy.

At first glance, you'll notice a smooth, glossy texture quite unlike ordinary cotton material. This fabric is called "Technorama," a material unique to Ono Merias, and it exudes an overwhelming sense of quality. We'll introduce this Technorama material in more detail later, but it has strong water-absorbing, quick-drying properties that ease the stress of winter laundry. It's a piece worth having on hand as an inner layer under winter knits that can't be casually tossed in the wash.
Moreover, because cut-and-sew garments are soft and fit closely to the body, they often become fuzzy soon after washing, or the neckline stretches out and looks sloppy. This cut-and-sew, however, has been carefully designed to resist stretching and losing its shape. The Technorama Jersey Panel Top uses a "double-attached" hem finish so it sits neatly at the waist, and a hidden binder inside the neckline prevents stretching.
The Technorama Jersey U-Neck Top uses a flat tape at the back of the neck to prevent stretching and losing shape, and stitching is added around the neckline to keep the seam allowance from feeling bulky.
It's a superb piece that lets you feel its "quality material" and "reassuring resistance to losing its shape" more and more with every wash.

This cut-and-sew uses a fabric called "Technorama." So what exactly is Technorama? The fabric needed to make clothing is made from yarn, and Technorama is the name given to yarn made from raw cotton. By applying a bio-processing treatment to the yarn, it takes on a distinctive smooth, slippery feel along with a dense, crisp texture from strong twisting. Visually, the fabric sits somewhere between casual and luxury, offering an elegant, vintage-like look, and it has excellent water-absorbing, quick-drying properties. It's a globally used material found in European fashion houses.
The raw cotton used is a premium extra-long-staple cotton from India. This premium extra-long-staple cotton contains plenty of natural oil, giving it a characteristic soft, lustrous, slippery feel. Cotton itself is classified into three categories based on fiber length.
① Short-staple cotton (up to 21 mm)
② Medium-staple cotton (21 mm to 28 mm)
③ Long-staple cotton (28 mm and above)
Extra-long-staple cotton refers to long-staple cotton whose fibers average 35 mm or more in length within the cotton boll. This is extremely rare and highly prized. The fabric is known for its exceptionally smooth hand-feel, and when spun into yarn, it has a high reflectivity that gives it a silk-like sheen. The cotton itself also has excellent properties, allowing yarn of a certain strength to be produced even from thin fibers. This makes it possible to create thin, high-quality fabric where the yarn is tightly intertwined, resists coming undone, and is resistant to pilling. A beautiful fabric with a subtle sheen—truly perfect for the everyday wardrobe of a grown adult.

The cut-and-sew pieces introduced here come in 2 styles and 2 colors: a cocoon-shaped panel top and an A-line U-neck top, both available in white and navy—colors that suit any season or setting. The pattern was drafted by a designer with experience at a top Parisian fashion house. Simple yet designed to beautifully flatter a woman's figure, these pieces can be worn alone or layered, such as under a cardigan.
【Technorama Jersey Panel Top】
This half-sleeve panel top features a slimming panel design across the front and back. It was made to bring out the beautiful three-dimensional silhouette that the drape-friendly Technorama material lends itself to. It can also serve as a stand-in T-shirt during the transitional season when daytime is still warm. Worn as an inner layer under a front-opening cardigan or similar outer piece, the panel detailing adds a subtle nuance to the look.
Cut-and-sew: Technorama Jersey Panel Top (WHITE)
Cardigan: Cashmere Long Cardigan (GREY)
Boots: MARIA Black Milled Nubuck
Of course, it's also designed to look beautiful when worn on its own.
A cocoon shape that doesn't cling to the body's lines even when paired with slim pants, giving you a feminine silhouette. The hem is narrowed, so it stays neat and compact.
【Technorama Tenjiku U-neck Top】
This is a long-sleeve type with a narrow U-neck that gives a calm impression. The neckline looks slim and long, and it's designed to be worn falling from the shoulders. You can create a feminine A-line silhouette. The hem length is made with a front-to-back difference, carefully designed for beauty even in motion.
It looks feminine without spreading too widely along the body's lines. Even when tucked into bottoms, the impression and silhouette stay the same.
A standard cut-and-sew piece that's sure to see plenty of use from now on. This is one item we'd love for you to add to your wardrobe.
